Thomas Cook boss: I'm deeply sorry about Corfu deaths - we could have done better
The boss of Thomas Cook said he is "deeply sorry" over the deaths of two British children killed by carbon monoxide poisoning in Corfu.
Christi and Bobby Shepherd died at the Louis Corcyra Beach Hotel on the Greek island in 2006 while on a Thomas Cook holiday.
Peter Fankhauser, the chief executive of the travel firm, said it was "absolutely clear" the company could have handled the situation better.
An inquest ruled last week that Thomas Cook had "breached their duty of care" over the children's deaths and the company has faced mounting criticism for its handling of the tragedy.
The children's parents have previously attacked the firm for not apologising to them directly.
Speaking as he unveiled Thomas Cook's half-year results, Mr Fankhauser said the firm regretted the way it had treated the family over the last nine years.
The company has now confirmed that he will meet with the family tomorrow.
