Paddy McGuinness set for Coronation Street role
Take Me Out star Paddy McGuinness is set to join Coronation Street as a survival enthusiast in a temporary role to be aired this summer.
The 41-year-old dating show host will play wilderness explorer Dougie Ryan, who meets the Tinker and Dobbs families on a camping trip.
Dougie will be on holiday with his teenage daughter Caitlin, who strikes up an unlikely friendship with Beth Tinker's son Craig.
McGuinness' Phoenix Nights co-star Peter Kay appeared in one episode of ITV soap as Shelley Unwin's date Eric Gartside in 2004.

The Max and Paddy star will appear in six episodes that will be filmed next month and will air in August.
Coronation Street Producer Stuart Blackburn said: "It's an absolute delight to be working with Paddy who is a talented actor with a flair for comedy that will ensure he fits right in with the Corrie cast."
McGuinness is the latest in a long line of celebrities to take a role on the cobbles, with past guest appearances from stars including Ian McKellen, Trevor McDonald, Nigel Havers, Stephanie Cole and Joanna Lumley.
Les Dennis is currently starring in the show as Michael Rodwell and former Girls Aloud singer Sarah Harding is set for a cameo in the show this summer.
