Former Girls Aloud star Sarah Harding will be bringing Something New to the cobbles of Coronation Street.

The 33-year-old is set to make a guest appearance in the soap over the summer, as a feisty new character who will clash with Tracy Barlow, played by Kate Ford.

Details of her storyline are being kept under wraps but Harding begins filming in May and will appear in four episodes over the summer.

The singer's previous acting credits include roles in the St Trinian's films, appearing opposite Dominic Cooper in BBC drama Freefall, and playing one of EastEnders star Danny Dyer's wives in Ray Cooney comedy Run For Your Wife.
