Fellow parents at Myleene Klass' daughter's school have reportedly hit back at the radio presenter after she ridiculed them on Twitter by posting pictures of their emails about birthday present collections.

Klass was confronted at the school gates yesterday when she went to pick up seven-year-old Ava, with one angry parent shouting “Why did you do it, Myleene? Why?” across the playground, according to local newspaper the Ham and High.

Another parent, who asked not to be named, told the paper Klass "has betrayed our confidences and belittled us so publicly. Lots of people have complained.”

The former 'I'm a celebrity get me out of here!' contestant angered parents at her daughter's north London school this week when she posted the content of a group email she was sent by some of the other mothers asking for donations for joint birthday gifts - including a Kindle and a desk - for their children, from their fellow classmates.

Parents defended the class communal gift arrangement as an easier way for parents to give gifts without buying expensive things that their children did not actually want.

Klass changed the names of the mothers and children involved but went on to describe the email she had received as "bonkers" before posting a tongue in cheek reply stating her daughter might like a "live Unicorn" as a gift when her birthday rolled around:
