The first extended clip from new the upcoming Fifty Shades of Grey film has been unveiled - and it's set in a DIY store.

The footage, shown on NBC's Today Show, features Christian Grey picking up a few of bedroom "essentials" at the store where Anastasia Steele works part-time.

Billionaire playboy Grey, played by Jamie Dornan, stocks up on cable ties, masking tape and rope as a flustered Ana - Dakota Johnson - serves him.

It ends with college student Ana, unaware of her soon-to-be lover's predilection for sadomasochism, joking, "Rope, tape, cable ties, you're the complete serial killer," to which Grey replies, "Not today."

The clip was released after the British Board of Film Classification (BBFC) made Sam Taylor-Johnson's take on the "mommy porn" novels an 18 certificate and passed the work "uncut".

Fifty Shades of Grey is set for UK release on February 13.
