#BlackHoleFriday and other #BlackFriday spin-offs
In the unlikely event that you haven't noticed, #BlackFriday is all over social media today as people flock to the shops in the hope of bagging a bargain.
But the shopping phenomenon has also sparked a number of spin-offs - and they're not all about parting with your hard-earned cash.
Here's a selection of the biggest anti-Black Friday trends:
A spiritual adviser to the family of Michael Brown - the black teenager who was shot dead by a police officer in the US city of Ferguson - has been spearheading the #handsupdontspend movement.
The idea is to boycott Black Friday by staging a protest outside prominent malls and shops and to encourage people to spend locally on "black businesses and the black community", Pastor Jamal Bryant said.
Nasa has launched its own intergalactic version with #BlackHoleFriday.
More than 700 charities and businesses have apparently joined forces to bring you #GivingTuesday - the ultimate antidote to "wild consumerism".
People are invited to do one thing for a charity or a cause they care about, and to share it on social media with an #unselfie.
Lots of businesses are cashing in on the Black Friday phenomenon by offering customers who follow or Retweet them on Twitter the chance to win free prizes.
#OrangeFriday... #GoldFriday... #GreenFriday
Businesses, sports teams and just about anyone with a colour other than black in their logo have been trying to get alternative tags trending.
But the National Trust reckons we should adopt #OrangeFriday, #GoldFriday or #GreenFriday by taking a walk outdoors.
