TV presenter and entertainer Keith Chegwin dies aged 60

Keith Chegwin, much loved children's TV presenter and entertainer died at home on Monday morning at the age of 60, following a "long-term battle with a progressive lung condition" his family said.

His nickname 'Cheggers' was a household name, and he was best known for hosting Cheggers Play Pop and Swap Shop.

In a statement, Chegwin's family said: "We are heartbroken to share the news that Keith Chegwin sadly passed away following a long-term battle with a progressive lung condition, idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis, which rapidly worsened towards the end of this year."

"Keith was a loving husband, father, son, brother, uncle and friend. We would respectfully ask to be left to mourn his passing in private."

Celebrities paid their tribute on social media expressing their sadness at Chegwin's passing.
