Meet Anne and her orange and ginger cherubs!
We were inundated with entries and now we're down to just three finalists all hoping to see their dessert on Waitrose supermarket shelves across Britain.
Today, we find out how our first finalist Anne Aitkin impressed our judges , Corrie star Debbie Rush and Alex Hollywood.
Anne works as a nurse in her local GP surgery and is married with one son called William, who is 23.
She tells us: "My ginger and orange cherubs are an adapted version of the traditional yorkshire recipe "rascals". They are a cross between a scone, rock cake and a biscuit. They are easy to make and whilst they may not be the prettiest of cakes, they are amongst the tastiest.
"We are a family of gingerholics (we love ginger and are all redheads, too!) and I have adapted this recipe over the years to satisfy our tastebuds. My family have loved making and decorating them over the years. They are lovely served warm from the oven with butter, jam and cream and are great for lunch boxes.”
She adds: “My Mum used to make the rascal recipe with Grandma and I did lots of cooking with them - I would say that I started baking at age five and rascals were one of my first recipes. I take a lot of baking into work and my colleagues love it. I would say that I bake at least once a week.”
Tune in on Tuesday and Wednesday for kore information about our second and third finalists!
