Kathy Lette and son Jules on autism awareness

It's not a label, it's a compliment if you have autism

Holby City actor Jules Robertson on living with autism

It's Autism Awareness week and alarming figures reveal that only 15 percent of people with the condition are in work.

Amanda Holden sat down with author and autism advocate Kathy Lette and her son Jules Robertson, who has Asperger's Syndrome, to talk about his personal experiences of autism, his role in BBC's Holby City as Jason Hayes, who has the disability, and why getting people on the autism spectrum into work is so important.

"I think that's often why companies don't employ people with autism because they are very frank, but I think it's wonderful to be around people who are so honest," Kathy told Amanda.

On accepting and celebrating peoples' differences, Kathy added: ''I always say to Jules there's no such thing as normal and abnormal, there's ordinary and extraordinary ... people on the spectrum are so unique and interesting."
