Healthy homemade granola
Homemade granola can be a healthy, comforting, and delicious treat.
Remember to just have 1 portion though. YOUR portion size is the size of your hand with fingers together. Anything outside this size needs to be salad, vegetables or fruit only!
Ingredients
100ml maple syrup5 tbsp honey1 tsp vanilla extract300g rolled oats50g sunflower seeds4 tbsp sesame seeds5 dried apricots, chopped50g raisins 50g pumpkin seeds 100g flaked almonds100g dried berries (find them in the baking aisle)
Method
Heat oven to 150C/fan 130C/gas 2. Mix the maple syrup, honey and vanilla in a large bowl. Tip in all the remaining ingredients except the raisins and dried berries, and mix well.
Tip the granola onto two baking sheets and spread evenly. Bake for 15 mins, then mix in the dried fruit, and bake for 10-15 mins more. Remove and scrape onto a flat tray to cool. Serve with cold milk or yogurt. The granola can be stored in an airtight container for up to a month.
