Lorraine Launches Nationwide Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign
Lorraine launches a new campaign to raise awareness of checking regularly for the signs and symptoms of breast cancer, by placing Change and Check stickers in changing rooms across the country. In the UK over 55,000 women are diagnosed with breast cancer each year and the earlier breast cancer is diagnosed, the higher the chances of successful treatment.
Mum of three and Lorraine producer, Helen Addis, was diagnosed with breast cancer in April 2018 after a feature with Dr. Hilary on breast examinations reminded her to check her own. Since her diagnosis, Helen has documented her journey through treatment and raised awareness through her blog The Titty Gritty, where she has been contacted by numerous women who have discovered symptoms of their own. But a year on, she has now turned her attention reaching an even wider audience with Lorraine.
The Change and Check campaign sees ‘reminder stickers’ placed on mirrors in changing rooms, encouraging women to check their breasts as they are getting changed. The sticker details the symptoms of breast cancer such as lumps, rashes and dimpling, reminding women to see a doctor or nurse if they become aware of any irregularities.
Our Change and Check stickers will be rolled out across the country, appearing in hundreds of changing rooms in John Lewis and Partners, David Lloyd Clubs, ASDA and Monsoon.
