London Zoo names penguin after Lorraine
Mark Heyes joins us live from London Zoo with a surprise... Lorraine loves penguins and the zoo has named one after her!
An Emperor penguin sits in my garden. It's the best present I've ever received, and by far the most unusual!
The story behind Lorraine's love of penguins
As what Lorraine describes as her 'most romantic gift ever', husband Steve tracked down sculptor Tim Chalk, the man behind Dundee's famous emperor penguin statues, and commissioned him to make an extra penguin for Lorraine.
About little penguin Lorraine
Lorraine Kelly - the penguin - hatched in April. The Humboldt penguin is a South American penguin that breeds in coastal Peru and Chile. They are medium-sized penguins, growing to 56-70 cm (22-28 in) long. The penguin is named after the cold-water current it swims in, which is itself named after Alexander von Humboldt, an explorer.
