Kim Taylforth: 'My skin cancer scare'
It's lovely to be out in the sun but wear the right protection!
Actress Kim Taylforth has urged people to be extra vigilant while out in the sun as she opened up about her experience of skin cancer.
Skin cancer is the UK's most common cancer, affecting 250,000 people every year.
Surprisingly, our exclusive survey revealed that seven out of 10 people admitted to not wearing sun screen.
Kim, the sister of Eastenders actress Gillian Taylforth, was diagnosed with skin cancer three years ago and continues to undergo chemotherapy treatment. The scare came after years of sun beds and dangerous sun exposure in her younger days when the harmful effects of both were not so widely known.
As part of our skin cancer awareness series, Love Your VIPs, Dr Hilary revealed that incidents of skin cancer are rising despite repeated warnings. He reiterated the importance of using a high factor sun screen to guard against the sun's harmful UV rays.
