Kate Winslet on her friendship with Leonardo DiCaprio: 'We never fancied each other'

Kate Winslet joined Lorraine on the show this morning to discuss working with Idris Elba in her latest film The Mountain Between Us, her kids quoting lines from Titanic, and rehearsing with Emma Thompson's Oscar.

Talking about the difficulties the cast and crew faced filming The Mountain Between Us in the Canadian Rockies, Kate said, “We literally had to just make stuff up. We’d have to change locations, change dialogues sometimes. It was fantastic to work in that kind of spontaneous environment."

With this year marking 20 years since the release of Titanic, Kate also reminisced about when she first worked with Leonardo DiCaprio, “We were both really young and luckily, and this is the fortunate thing, we never fancied each other.”

The actress told Lorraine that she keeps her Oscar (which she won for The Reader in 2009) in the toilet to let guests have a 'moment of fun'. She also revealed that when she was younger, she went to Emma Thompson’s house (who also kept her Oscar in the toilet) and rehearsed a fake speech! Reflecting on her success, Kate said she 'couldn’t believe it' and told viewers to 'never give up on your dreams'.
