Jessica Raine on gritty new drama Jericho
It's actually really, really good! I really like it and I want people to watch it
She has been a regular on our screens - from lead role in 'Call the Midwife' to 'Wolf Hall' - now actress Jessica Raine is starring in ITV's gritty new drama, Jericho.
Set in the Yorkshire Dales in the 1870s, the drama focusses on the shantytown of Jericho, home to a community that live, thrive and die in the shadow of the viaduct joining two sides of the valley which they've been brought together to build.
Jessica plays Annie Quaintain, a determined woman who refuses to let tragedy define her. Her character's life is turned upside down following the death of her schoolmaster husband, but eventually we see her overcome adversity.
This woman on the surface is coping, but underneath she's desperately trying to keep her head above water!
The journey to rebuild her life, however, is not without it's struggles...
Jericho starts tonight on ITV at 9pm.
