Brother of murdered Harry Potter star's TV debut
We shared the same group of friends, so we were with each other all the time. When he got taken it was such a shock
Eight years on from the tragic death of Harry Potter star Robert Knox, his brother Jamie joins Fiona to tell us why he's determined to keep his legacy alive...
Robert, who played Marcus Belby in Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince alongside Daniel Radcliffe, was fatally stabbed in 2008 while trying to protect younger brother, Jamie, from his knife-wielding attacker.
The 18-year-old aspiring actor had just completed filming the much-loved movie and had a promising career ahead when his life was senselessly cut short.
Describing the impact of his brother's death, Jamie said: "You go through a lot of different stages, first denial, you choose not to accept it, but you learn to come to terms with it."
Now, his brother Jamie is about to make his television debut, starring in new reality show Stage School, which follows the lives of students at a prestigious performing arts school, but the actor says his bid for stardom may not have been possible without the influence of his late brother.
The pair had a shared love of acting and Jamie says Robert's death gave him the confidence to pursue it as a career.
He told Fiona that visiting the Harry Potter film set with Robert reaffirmed his passion for acting and made him realise his own dream.
"It was so inspiring and at that point I knew that's where I wanted to be," Jamie said.
Stage School starts on Monday 5 September at 7.30pm on E4.
