Corrie says goodbye to Deirdre

The first question she asked me was, 'what's your star sign?'

Owen Aaronovich played conman Jon Lindsay in Corrie alongside Anne Kirkbride

It will be an emotional episode of Coronation Street tonight, as the events of Deirdre's death unfold on the soap.

After the sad passing of Anne Kirkbride, it will not doubt touch the hearts of both the actors and the viewers.

Lorraine is joined by Owen Aaronovich who played one of Deidre's infamous love interests, conman Jon Lindsay.

Owen worked closely with Anne on the storyline that captured the nation's imagination (and was also raised in the Houses of Parliament), when Deirdre fell for the charms of conman Jon Lindsay and ended up in prison. Owen said of his co-star, "She was really, really lovely. She was a complete professional. You'd learn a lot from watching her."

Dawn Acton played Deirdre's daughter, Tracy Barlow from 1988 to 1999 and is on the phone to remind us why Deidre was such a well loved Corrie member. Dawn shares her fondest memories, saying, "Even though most of out scenes were spent shouting at each other as soon as the cameras went off we spent most of our time laughing."
