The rise and rise of Colin Hanks
It's one of the many things we have in common. We're very similar, we have a lot of similar tastes, but really, more than anything, he's asking about the grandkids
He's the son of Hollywood star Tom Hanks and has enjoyed an incredibly successful acting career on his own, now Colin Hanks is turning his hand to directing with his new documentary All Things Must Pass: The Rise and Fall of Tower Records.
The short feature film follows the birth and demise of the once hugely successful music store, Tower Records, and relies on the it's longest-serving employees and highest-profile customers to chronicle it's story, from its explosive trajectory to its tragic demise, including Elton John who describes Towers closing as one of the great tragedies of his life.
Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl joked that he worked at the store because no other employer would tolerate his long mane of hair!
As a kid it was great place to spend four or five hours of my time
The documentary, which took seven years for Hanks to complete, was first released in the US in October 2015 and is now available in the UK on DVD.
