Alex Jones shares her breast cancer story

I don't like to think of the end - that's the most terrifying thing

Alex Jones

Giovanna Fletcher spoke to Alex Jones who is living with breast cancer and developed symptoms, aged just 21.

Two years later, she was diagnosed with an aggressive and incurable form of the disease and had to undergo a double mastectomy.

"I thought because of my age, it was never even possible for someone as young as myself," Alex said.

"Sometimes I can't believe I've got this disease inside of me and that it's spreading.

"I don't like to think of the end - that's the most terrifying thing."

Alex has worked tirelessly to raise awareness about breast cancer and vital funds for research.

"I want to keep spreading the word and raising awareness of breast cancer, especially in young people," she said.

"I had breast cancer at 21, don't think it can't happen."

You'll hear more about #Breastmates, running in conjunction with ITVBe and CoppaFeel!, on the show later this week.
