Baby joy for Sarra and Sir Chris Hoy ?

He’s super excited about this next one

Sarra Hoy has announced she and Olympic cyclist Sir Chris Hoy are expecting their second child after a moving interview about her work helping mothers of premature babies.

Chris and Sarra’s first child Callum had to be delivered 11 weeks early and weighed just 2lbs 2oz when he was born in 2014.

Sarra, who is an ambassador for Bliss - a charity for babies born sick or premature, admitted she didn’t think she would try for a second child but found comfort and reassurance in the support she received during the ordeal of Callum's premature birth.

“We’ve got support of a great doctor, and we feel really reassured,'' Sarra said.

''Hopefully it’s something that other people can take comfort from. I would never have thought that I would have ventured down the road again, but actually time’s a great healer and actually we’re so excited about it.”

On whether the experience had made her more anxious this time around, Sarra said: “Maybe. The point is, prematurity or having a sick baby, it’s unexpected for most people. So that’s the shock of it. It might not happen again, but we’ll see.”

And there's none more excited about the new arrival than Olympic legend Chris Hoy who is said to be over the moon at becoming a dad for a second time.

“He’s just such a lovely, lovely dad to Callum and he adores him and I think he’s now, knowing how wonderful it is with Callum now, he’s super excited about this next one.”
