Alex Eades named Lorraine’s Inspirational Woman Of The Year 2017
Alex Eades has been named as this year’s Inspirational Woman Of The Year.
Alex tragically lost her daughter to brain cancer when she was just 19 years old, and has since set up charity Charlotte’s BAG, which raises funds for research into the rare cancer that killed her daughter.
“I was just completely blown over,” said emotional Alex as she joined Lorraine on the sofa, “It was a very difficult speech but I managed to do it.”
On her reasons for starting charity Charlotte’s BAG, Alex explained: “What happened to Charlotte at the end was just so horrific, I wouldn’t want anybody else to go through it.”
The Women Of The Year lunch was attended by a host of famous faces including Camilla The Duchess Of Cornwall, Sandi Toksvig and Meera Syal.
“There are some of the greatest women in the country here at this lunch,” Sandi said, “What I’m planning to do is to bottle that sound of competence and creativity and send it to every school girl in the country.”
