James Argent and mum Patricia emotionally discuss how his addiction affected their family
James 'Arg' Argent became very emotional as he listened to his mum explain to the Loose Women how she coped with his addiction to drugs and alcohol.
James, who spoke openly about his journey for the first time in 2020, found himself getting choked up as Patricia told Andrea, Linda, Judi and Coleen how she had initially felt helpless when she realised she couldn't save her son.
She said it was the "worst possible nightmare a mother can face". Patricia also expressed her support for James and celebrated his progress, telling the panel that she now wants to help other mothers and parents who are going through a similar experience.
"It's one thing putting myself through it... it's another thing, it's the effect that you have on your family, your friends," James explained. "The best way of me making amends is by staying clean and sober."
