Paul Merson says gambling addiction left him 'feeling drained'

Ex-England legend Paul Merson has revealed his ongoing battle with gambling addiction has left him 'feeling drained'.

Merson received an outpouring of support after emotionally breaking down and revealing his secret struggle on Harry’s Heroes: The Full English.

The Arsenal icon, who blew £7m on betting during his career, told Good Morning Britain: ‘When you want to get drunk or you want to get high, you have to put stuff into your body.

‘Gambling - you don’t have to put anything into you. It’s there.’
