'He's a predator' - TV reporter on moment Weinstein allegedly sexually assaulted her

An American television reporter has told Good Morning Britain about the moment Harvey Weinstein allegedly cornered and sexually assaulted her when she was a young news anchor.

Lauren Sivan was one of the first women to make allegations of sexual harassment against the filmmaker, who she described as "a titan of Hollywood" - but only recently came out with her story because she knew "with one phone call" he could "end my career".

Lauren met Weinstein when she was sat next to him at a dinner party and told GMB: "We had a lovely conversation." However, after he offered to give her a tour of the restaurant, which he claimed to own, "things became unsavoury."

"He walked me to the back of this kitchen ,where I was sort of trapped," she said.

"He exposed himself and committed an act that was unfortunate and I had to witness it and I had no choice in the matter."

She says he then called her at work the next day to ask if he could see her again and tell her he had "a lovely evening".

Lauren told us why as a young woman who was new to her career she was frightened of speaking out about the most powerful man in Hollywood - but now chooses to share her experience because his denial of allegations made by actresses "made me so furious."
