Tesco bans sweets from the checkout
The UK’s biggest supermarket will soon be banning sweets, chocolate and crisps from near their checkouts, in a move against obesity.
Tesco’s say they will be banished in all stores before the end of the year.
The company had already removed sweets from counters at their larger outlets, but they continued to be sold at the checkouts in convenience stores.
Some other supermarket chains, including Lidl have already made the move, replacing confectionery with dried and fresh fruit, oat cakes and juices.
