Kate Nash: "I just want to encourage all women to empower themselves"
Brit-Award winning singer-songwriter Kate Nash has taken America by storm in the hit television series, Glow.
Picking up where the last season left off, the new season of the Netflix show sees the ladies and their wrestling alter egos adjust to their new lives on screen.
Speaking about Season 2 (which airs later this month), she said it’s empowering to have an all female cast: “For us being on the show, it really does feel like female empowerment because we’re learning how to wrestle… it’s so empowering to use your body in a way you never have before. It’s so normal to concentrate on how you look as a woman, but when you’re in the ring, you’re concentrating on your footwork and doing the moves well.”
She also opened up about suffering sexual assault in the past, as she spoke about whether a Me Too movement will eventually occur within the music industry: “I have experienced sexual assault. I think it’s so normal. I’ve experienced it in my personal life, at gigs. I don’t know many women who haven’t experienced it to be honest.”
