Should a children's book character smoke?
A scarecrow who smokes a cigar in a new book by Julia Donaldson has sparked controversy among parents, in The Scarecrow's Wedding, villain Reginald Rake blows smoke rings to impress a lady.
Joining us are two mums; journalist Anna Wharton and editor of The Telegraph's parenting hub Sally Peck, who have opposing views on this.
We'd like to hear your thoughts on this. Do you think it's acceptable to have a character smoking in children's books? Is it necessary to teach them that smoking is bad, before they may even be aware of what smoking is?
