Suggs on how his cat's death made him reassess his life

Madness frontman Suggs has told Good Morning Britain about the moment he witnessed his cat's sudden death and felt moved to reassess his own life.

After acknowledging the 'black comedy' of the situation, he admitted that reaching his 50s made him take stock of what he had achieved and what more he could do.

"You think [turning 50 is] nothing but it does hit you - half a century of your life, gone... and what has happened in that time?" he mused after explaining how his cat suddenly dropped dead in front of him while he was in the bath.

The moment made him decide to go on a journey of discovery with his one-man tour and notably find out more about his father, who he never knew.

Suggs also shared some of his best moments from his amazing career, including meeting the Queen and performing on the roof of Buckingham Palace.

Suggs: My Life Story will be screened in cinemas across the UK with a live show direct from Koko in Camden Town on 17 January 2018
