Katy Fawcett on childcare for two-year-olds

Children as young as two could soon be starting school, but is it too much too soon?

Good Morning Britain Correspondent Katy Fawcett tells us more in her blog.

The government has trialled nurseries at 49 schools and is hailing them a huge success.

It says 75% of the nurseries are now full and four out of five are offering care in the morning and afternoon.

Childcare for two-year-olds is free for 15 hours for 40% of parents, the rest has to be paid for.

The Government says starting school early can give children who would usually struggle a head start.

But a nursery in Bristol called Abbeywood Tots says the concept hasn't worked here.

You need too many teachers to give the children what they need. At 2 we think children should be playing.
