Police officers who arrested Jo Cox's killer recognised for bravery
The two police officers who caught and arrested the man who killed MP Jo Cox spoke to Good Morning Britain this morning ahead of being recognised at the Police Bravery Awards.
Craig Nicholls and Jonathan Wright weren't even supposed to be on patrol that day and usually wouldn't have been partnered together - but ended up wrestling Thomas Mair to the ground before handcuffing him.
Describing the killer, who has been imprisoned for life, as "sinister", the pair opened up about that fateful day and praised Jo's family for their strength since the tragedy.
"They're phenomenal people. Very very strong people," Craig told Susanna Reid and Ben Shephard.
