Jack Maynard recalls 'scary' I'm a Celeb exit - but hints at return to the jungle
It was a scandal that rumbled the jungle when Youtuber Jack Maynard was asked to leave the show over historic tweets. Producers asked him to step out of the camp over accusations he used social media to make homophobic and racist comments.
This morning the star, who has 1.3 million Youtube followers, recalled on Good Morning Britain what really happened when he had to leave the set.
"I got taken to the medical hut to be greeted by the producers who didn't really tell me much at the time" he said.
It was at that point he was asked to leave, but it was only upon returning to a hotel that he realised the gravity of the accusations around messages. At the time, he faced harsh criticism for the tweets.
The 23-year-old said: "I'm still so thankful that social media is about, it's given me so many things."
He recounted how the comments were made several years ago and how he had far fewer followers on social media at the time.
Despite his shock exit from the show, he admitted that he would go back into the jungle to "prove himself" and "face some of his biggest fears".
DJ, Vlogger and Youtube sensation also announced on Good Morning Britain his plans for a new four-date tour.
He said: "I'm going to be going on tour in October, I'm very lucky in what I get to do, I get to do my job all around the world."
Jack will be touring as a DJ. He spoke about his previous successes with similar gigs, discussing a performance with The Vamps.
