Icy Spicy Chai Latte
Move over iced tea. This takes a couple of extra minutes to measure the spices but it takes refreshment to a whole new level.
Serves 6
Ingredients:
5 cups 1200 ml water 1 cup low-fat milk or unsweetened almond milk1 teaspoon natural cocoa powder1 teaspoon ground ginger1⁄2 teaspoon ground cardamom1⁄4 teaspoon ground cinnamon1⁄8 teaspoon ground cloves4 black tea bags2 tablespoons chopped mint
Method:
Combine the water, milk, cocoa, ginger, cardamom,cinnamon and cloves ina 2-quart saucepan over medium heat. Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat. Add the tea bags and mint and simmer for 4 minutes. Remove from the heat andstrain.
Sweeten with the agave, if desired. Chai may beenjoyed hot or chilled.Store for 2 to 3 days in the refrigerator.
