Headscarf ban - common sense or discrimination?
Employers can ban staff from wearing headscarves or other visible symbols of religion or politics at work, the European Court of Justice has ruled.
In its first decision on the issue of wearing headscarves at work, the court ruled that any company imposing the ban have to require all employees to 'dress neutrally' and the ban must be instigated by the company - customers cannot demand the ban
We were joined this morning by broadcaster Saira Khan who says the ruling is a 'common sense approach,' and journalist Hanna Yusuf is disappointed by the outcome.
