Social Purpose
ITV Social Purpose
At ITV we want to reflect the rich diversity of contemporary Britain in everything we do - and we want to create shows with the biggest impact on audiences and the smallest impact on the planet. We would like to work with you to achieve these very important goals which fit in with ITV’s overall Social Purpose Strategy.
During the commissioning process, we ask you to follow our ITV Supplier Code of Conduct
Below you will find additional resources and support to help you.
Climate Action
Making shows with the biggest impact on audiences and the smallest impact on the planet.
We're committed to reducing emissions and waste in all our productions. All shows we commission need to achieve albert certification. Hosted by BAFTA, albert is a pan-industry initiative supporting the film and TV industry in reducing its environmental impact. Certification is now an expected deliverable for all major broadcasters in the UK and is a key part of ITV's Climate Action strategy.
ITV is also committed to the Climate Content Pledge, increasing the amount of content on-screen that supports the transition to a more sustainable world. We ask all shows to embed some type of content, whether subtle or explicit, and we track the results internally.
Please speak to albertinfo@wearealbert.org or our sustainability team (sustainability@itv.com) if you have any questions on any of these topics, and refer to the guides below for more information.

TV Access Project
ITV is a member of the TV Access Project (TAP) working towards full inclusion for Disabled people by 2030. We expect every Producer who is commissioned by ITV to be considering accessibility from the beginning of the production process by adopting the 5 A’s, ensuring you are budgeting for accessibility and working in a production space that has completed the TV Access Project's Accessibility Audit.
