Dog found in Redcar buried alive and with nail through head
A dog has been found buried alive with a nail through its head in an act of 'inexplicable cruelty'.
A couple stumbled across the gruesome sight in Kirkleatham Woods in Redcar, Cleveland, while they were out walking at midday today.
The little dog, believed to have been a terrier crossbreed, has now beenput to sleep to end his suffering.
After hearing whimpering nearby, the couple discovered a mound of earth and to their horror uncovered the dog, who was still alive and had a nail sticking out from between his eyes.
They called the police immediately, before rushing the dog to a nearbyvets, who were left with no choice but to put the dog to sleep.
The RSPCA are now appealing for information in the hopes of tracking down whoever is responsible for the heinous crime.
