Two men have been arrested on suspicion of animal cruelty following the discovery of a severely injured dog in Redcar.
The dog was found buried alive and with a nail through its head, and was only found after a couple stumbled across the gruesome sight in Kirkleatham Woods in Redcar, Cleveland, while they were out walking.
The arrested men are aged 60 and 59 respectively and are from the Redcar area.
They are currently being interviewed by the RSPCA officer investigating.
