Having witnessed his father's suicide, Yury is sent to live in Moscow.

Having witnessed his father's suicide, Yury is sent to live in Moscow with his uncle, aunt and cousin. Whilst there, he becomes captivated by a stunning young girl called Lara.

When Yury is wounded, he is treated by Lara and they begin to fall in love.

When Yury is shot and wounded on the WW1 front line, he is treated by Lara, and their love blossoms - all whilst the Russian Revolution is growing in the background.

Lara helps Tonya, without knowing anything of Lara's affair with her husband.

Lara helps Tonya during her contractions, but Tonya is unaware of Lara's affair with her husband. As the love triangle unfolds, the revolution builds, and Yury is captured.
