Wales This Week: Sleeping is the Enemy
Getting a good night’s sleep is a crucial part of our everyday lives, but it’s becoming increasingly difficult. A third of us are now considered severely sleep deprived and insomnia has become the most commonly reported mental health complaint in the UK.
In 2011 a joint report from creators of the “Great British Sleep Survey”, world sleep measurers Sleepio and The Mental Health Foundation called upon the NHS to take action. The results showed that sleeping disorders are now having a huge impact on our physical and mental wellbeing.
An investigation by ITV Wales This Week reveals that this is still the case and calls are being made for sleeping disorders to be recognised by the NHS in Wales.
