Not Quite Nice? Of course she is, it's Celia Imrie!

If somebody listens… I’d be thrilled because I want to be evil and show the other side

Celia on reports suggesting her as a Bond villain

She's one of the country's best-loved actresses, starring in Dinnerladies, Acorn Antiques, Calendar Girls and Bridget Jones, and has acted alongside British favourites Julie Walters and Victoria Wood.

Now Celia Imrie is teaming back up with her gang of retirees for The Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel and has her debut novel Not Quite Nice hitting the bookshops today.

Chatting to Eamonn and Ruth, Celia explained what it was liked working alongside Richard Gere. Celia said, “I am very starstruck, so it was rather thrilling for me, and very easy to say those [flirty] lines! He did say the sweetest thing actually, he said, ‘I think you’ve put fifteen years on my career’ - not me - my character, because she rather fancied him. But women go mad for him don’t they?”

When asked about reports suggesting Celia Imrie as a Bond villain. Celia smiled and said, “Yes! Why not?... Could I be bad? Don’t you know? I’ve got a very, very wicked other side! People don’t know. But what a marvellous thing.”

Before adding, “If somebody listens… I’d be thrilled because I want to be evil and show the other side."
