I lost three limbs and survived

Father-of-one Alex Lewis went to bed last November with flu-like symptoms and ended up losing three limbs as he fought off the bacterial infection Strep A. He joins us to tell his incredible story of survival.

When Alex, 34, went to bed feeling unwell one night last November he could not have imagined the living nightmare that he was about to face. What Alex didn't know was that his flu-like symptoms were in fact symptoms of the bacterial infection, Strep A, which, in his rare case, went on to develop into life-threatening septicemia.

In a matter of hours, Alex was in a coma and given just a 3% chance of survival. But, he battled against the odds and after amputations of both his legs, his arm, lips and part of his nose, Alex has made a remarkable recovery.

He now faces months of gruelling rehab in a bid to walk again, but, despite everything, Alex says he couldn't be happier. Alex joins us to tell his shocking and inspirational story.
