Friends... with benefits

New research partly funded by the government has revealed that a third of young people in the UK have tried a friends with benefits relationship - that's to say they have had a friend with whom they have had an occasional and casual sexual relationship.

But interestingly, more than half of almost 4000 people surveyed admitted they wanted something more. So can a friends with benefits situation ever really work?

Two journalists with opposing views are Anna Wharton, 36, who thinks women are simply not programmed to have such relationships so no real good can come from them, and Natasha Devon, 32, who believes a friend with benefits is a great addition to life for any women wanting sex but not a relationship.

Let us know what you think by voting in our poll above.
