'I can't stop scratching my face'
For six years, Samantha Wake, 20, has lived with an all-consuming compulsion to pick at the skin on her face until it bleeds and becomes red raw.
Samantha can spend up to six hours a day picking at her face in front of a mirror. This has left covered with angry red scars which leave her in constant pain. After seeking medical advice for the compulsion which has come to dominate her life, Samantha has been diagnosed with Dermatillomania, a form of Obsessive Compulsive Disorder which causes the sufferer to obsessively pick at their skin.
Still struggling to control her condition, Samantha is speaking out in an effort to raise awareness of these kind of compulsive disorders. She joins us now, together with Dr Ranj Singh, to tell her story.
