The people who came face to face with serial killer Charles Sobhraj
In the 70s and 80s, thousands of young people backpacked their way through South East Asia. Some of them never came home. 20 or more are believed to be the victims of a killer who became known as The Serpent. Charles Sobhraj to this day has spent a lifetime as a suspect, but has managed to slip and slide his way through life, and today walks as a free man.
This fascinating story is now told in a brand new Channel 4 series - in which Sobhraj agreed in an unprecedented move to speak to documentary makers about the murders he was convicted of, the ones he admitted to then denied, and ones he’s never before been questioned about.
Former detective, Jackie Malton, and forensic psychologist Paul Britton tell us more.
