Waterloo by ABBA named young people’s favourite ever Eurovision song

A survey of over 1000 under 34-year-olds has revealed that young people’s favourite ever Eurovision song is Waterloo by ABBA. The iconic Eurovision tune was closely followed by Gina G’s ‘Ooh Aah.. Just a Little Bit’ and Bucks Fizz’ ‘Making Your Mind Up’.

Of the past 10 years the top 3 songs chosen by the audience as a favourite were:

Zitti e buoni by Måneskin - Italy, 2021

Euphoria by Loreen - 2012, Sweden

Rise Like A Phoenix by Conchita Wurst - Austria, 2014 (12%)

A third of under 34-year-olds plan to watch the event this weekend (37%), celebrating by playing drinking games (54%), preparing themed food (47%) and themed cocktails (43%).

Three quarters of those surveyed believe Eurovision is a diverse event (73%), citing the number of countries involved, the different characters and cultures, and how all countries have equal chance of winning.

The survey was conducted by LADnation, LADbible Group’s consumer research youth panel, home to over 55,000 Gen Z and Millennials and counting. LADbible Group will be bringing the latest Eurovision news to its audience across its platforms, that now reach over a billion people a month, throughout the week of celebrations.
