The dark side of location tracking apps
Many apps on our phones track our location - from maps which provide us with directions to fitness trackers following our running routes and even weather apps telling us our local forecast. But how can you keep yourself safe when sharing your whereabouts with tracking apps and devices?
Jenny Radcliffe is here with her important advice on why you should restrict who can see your location and practical tips on how to adjust your phone’s settings.
Jenny's key advice when it comes to using tracking apps and gadgets:
Always delete apps you do not use.
Make sure to close apps when you have finished using them.
Regularly delete the history on the apps and devices.
Check the location settings, a majority of apps you use don't need to know where you are.
Be mindful when posting on fitness apps, never start and finishing at your home address.
Don't share your location all the time, turn it on and off when you need it.
