Tesco Clubcard rewards are changing – here’s how to swap your points so you don’t lose out
Tesco Clubcard reward changes, £48 of Max Factor for £15, Open Farms Sunday and Vodafone fast fibre broadband. These are our Money Saving Expert Martin Lewis’ Quick Deals.
Remember, deals can change quickly, even while I’m on the programme. So always double-check the terms and conditions before spending. Plus, while I hope these deals will save you cash, don’t spend if you can’t afford it, don’t need it, or won’t use it.
Two-week warning - swap your Tesco Clubcard points now before the value changes
In January, Tesco announced that it’ll be changing its Clubcard Rewards system. At first it said it was going to implement changes immediately but then, after campaigning, including quite vociferously by me, it made a u-turn and said it won’t make any changes till mid-June – which is coming up.
From 11 June, instead of being able to swap your Clubcard vouchers for two to four times the value in rewards, in its Clubcard Rewards scheme – they will all be worth three times the value.
So things that you should swap for now, as they’re currently four times (£5 gets £20) and going to three times (£5 gets £15), include Café Rouge, London Zoo, Pizza Express and Prezzo. And things you should wait for where £5 is worth £10 but will soon be worth £15, include APH Airport Parking, Evans Cycles, Megabus, RedSpottedHanky, it’ll now be worth £15.
So if you’re planning to redeem your vouchers, check now if you should do it asap or wait.
Fibre broadband AND line rental for less than £20 a month
Until Sunday (3 June), new Vodafone customers (who aren’t currently with it for broadband), who go online via many price comparison sites including Broadband Choices, Compare the Market and GoCompare (do check for the exact deal) though not direct, can get an 18-month fast fibre contract with average speeds of 35Mb for £20/mth which includes free line rental and unlimited downloads.
Plus you can CLAIM a free £20 Amazon voucher (must do so within first 3 months) - you’ll be sent instructions within 90 days of how to get it, so factor that in and over the 18-mth contract it's an equivalent £19/mth. Many people out of contract are paying £40-43/mth for standard speed.
£15 for £48 of Max Factor make-up
At Boots, online or in store, spend £14+ on most Max Factor products, you’ll get a free Max Factor set, including full-size mascara, 'Honey lacquer' lip gloss, Kohl brown eye pencil and 'Smooth Miracle' primer – which if bought separately at Boots would be £33ish. The cheapest item I found in-store to get the offer was an eyeshadow palette for £14.99, so this is effectively a way you can get £48ish of Max Factor for £15. The freebie will be added to your basket online automatically, but in store you'll need to pick it up from the shelf and take it to the till. The offer lasts till next Tuesday (5 June) as long as stocks last.
Free entry to 300+ farms
A week on Sunday(10 June) the massively popular annual one-day Open Farm event is taking-place. It’s where more than 350 farms across England, Scotland and Wales open their gates and put on various activities, including lamb feeding, welly wanging, pony rides, egg collecting, sheep shearing, face painting, walking tours, tractor rides and more (activities will be different at each farm).
Most farms are free to walk in to (roughly 90%), but others may charge a fee (£1 - £10) or ask for a donation to the farm. To find out if your local farm is participating, use this Farm Finder which lists all of the events. I get great reports each year on how much fun this is and good for families – but I’m telling you early as I know many families need to plan.
