Supporting the lionesses! England’s top sports bra professor
Every athlete knows that even just small tweaks to training regimes, diet or your kit can give you a competitive edge. So the Lionesses have worked with a specialist team from the University of Portsmouth to provide them with a top hi-tech sports bra to wear during the Women’s World Cup.
Known as ‘the bra professor’, Joanna Wakefield-Scurr is an expert in biomechanics and has conducted in-depth research into different ways breasts move during exercise and how to support them. She joins us today to explain why a poorly-fitting sports bra can not only cause back pain but also affect oxygen intake, stride and stamina as well as revealing her top tips for finding your own sports bra.
