'Ronnie would love it' Still Open All Hours is back
There's a lot of sexual tension - especially with my character!
Johnny Vegas and Lynda Baron believe the late Ronnie Barker would give his seal of approval to the brand new series of Still Open All Hours.
After gracing our screens in a one-off Christmas special last year, the cult show is back on Boxing Day.
Lynda Baron reprises her role as Nurse Gladys Emmanuel and new cast member Johnny Vegas plays Wet Eric.
Lynda said: "It was really odd going back at first, I didn't want to spoil anything. It was sad when we got there and I realised Ronnie wasn't going to be there. He would think it was hilarious. I still feel him around."
Johnny continues: "His photograph is on set, everywhere you go he is looking at you. There are references to him in the script."
He added: "I watched it as a kid. It's so weird suddenly being in it. It's nice to do something the family can watch and bring in a new audience while still attracting the original audience. "
Johnny also referenced Phillip's incredible 24-hour stint for Text Santa this month:
He quipped: "I kept going back to the telly and you were on. I kept on thinking I was losing days through drink!"
