Professor David Wilson

Professor David says: I finished my PhD at Cambridge on a Friday – the following Monday I was an Assistant Prison Governor at HMP Wormwood Scrubs. I spent 14 years working with offenders, during which time I helped to design and then managed the two units for the 12 most disruptive prisoners in the country. In 1997 I left the Prison Service and returned to academia as Professor of Criminology at Birmingham City University.

I’m best known for: Working with serial killers and other violent offenders

The proudest moment of my career is: Being made a National Teaching Fellow in 2012

The first thing I do in the morning is: Feed our two cats, Lisa Simpson and Mr Darcy

My favourite breakfast is: Porridge – with salt, never sugar!

The most famous person in my phonebook is: Donal MacIntyre

The actor who would play me in a film about This Morning is: George Clooney

My favourite memory from working on This Morning is: Being asked if I was Alan Titchmarsh

If I wasn’t featuring on This Morning, I’d be: Lecturing to my students at BCU

You’d be surprised to learn that: I am really left-handed, but was made to write with my right hand at school, which is why my handwriting is so awful

The one thing I couldn’t live without is: My season ticket to Northampton Saints
