Professor David Wilson
Professor David says: I finished my PhD at Cambridge on a Friday – the following Monday I was an Assistant Prison Governor at HMP Wormwood Scrubs. I spent 14 years working with offenders, during which time I helped to design and then managed the two units for the 12 most disruptive prisoners in the country. In 1997 I left the Prison Service and returned to academia as Professor of Criminology at Birmingham City University.

You’d be surprised to learn that: I am really left-handed, but was made to write with my right hand at school, which is why my handwriting is so awful
The one thing I couldn’t live without is: My season ticket to Northampton Saints
