Kelly Clarkson talks critics, babies and Harry Styles
In pop music people are very like ‘too cool for school’ most of the time, so I thought he was such a nice gentlemen and so kind
Triple Grammy-award winner Kelly Clarkson has 11 international No 1s under her belt and has sold over 20 million albums worldwide. She joined us today to sing her new single Invincible from album Piece by Piece.
Speaking to Marvin and Rochelle after her performance, she told us about her recent encounter with One Direction's Harry Styles. Kelly said, “He is so nice. He walked up to me out of nowhere at the Billboard Awards, and no-one does that. In pop music people are very like ‘too cool for school’ most of the time, so I thought he was such a nice gentlemen and so kind."
UIt’s always been really hardcore, so I think I just get used to it
This week Kelly has been on The Radio 1 Live Lounge and she'll be joining the line-up (together with Marvin and Rochelle) at Capital's Summertime Ball on Saturday.
Our presenters also asked Kelly about remaining Invincible in the face of critics. Kelly said, “I’m from a small town so everyone has had their two cents to say from the very beginning when I was a young kid… either about what you’re wearing, and even from [American] Idol - it’s always been really hardcore, so I think I just get used to it.”
